Beat the Streets Kicks off with 10 Teams in Winter League
The Baruch Wrestling Team, the pilot program of the Beat the Streets Program, has begun recruiting and scheduling a list of activities for its second year. Mark Harman and Chris Poli, the two coaches at the school along with Rob Schoenberg Manhattan Director, have done a remarkable job developing the Beat the Streets Program at Baruch and Manhattan..
The Principal, Margaret Struk, has been very supportive with not only with Baruch but also with her strong support contacting other professionals in the Educational Community of New York City.
Below is a schedule developed by the staff for their kids to participate in intramural activity with other middle schools in Manhattan, Queens and Long Island. Last year program began with 30 kids and completed 10 weeks later with 28 kids. The Staff has reported that for the upcoming season beginning Dec. 1st, have well over 50 kids registered thus far.
The entire Beat the Streets Coaching Staff knows that we all will be judged on not how many matches our teams win but how many kids are stayed involved in the activity of building fitness through wrestling.
